What's the weirdest baby name you've ever heard (or considered)?
If i had my way Annmarie would have been Annmarie McGhee Grateful Wetnight. annnnd we would have called her Grateful. Averiegh would have been Begonia - I'm still sad I didnt get to atleast it as a middle name. I had a huuuge list for Aldrin -but I really thought he was going to be a Doyle. I like Aldrin though, its unique. After 2 A's we decided to make it a full set so we looked for A names and Aldrin was the obvious choice considering the space exploration freak that David is. Annd I got to pick the middle name and I chose Shepard (David's suggestion of course) b/c well I liked it.
Oh this is sorta wrong, Avereigh is Avereigh b/c well Avery Wetnight just didnt look right. I'm sad I didnt name her Avril, I really love that name but everytime I told anyone they looked at me funny and said, like Avril Levigne? She looks more like an Avril to me, i guess its a little too late now. David picked Pearl for her middle name, I just love it and it fits her well, shes our little Pearl Girl.
Annnd Wetnight, thats sorta cruel in itself, no? I love our last name :) Much better than my maiden name - Brooooown.

Who is your Alert In Case Of Emergency person?
ive got a lot of things going on in my head here. I have been thinking a lot a lot about who I am, where Ive been, and where I want to go. Ive been sooo depressed for the last few months, I think I'm better now, and I'm feeling a lot more creative and powerful. Annnd as I think back it seems like I can remember a period of really crappy times, but always following with huge personal growth. I need to think more and that, because I might be onto something! Anyway, Ive decided that in order to be happy, I need to be me. I need to be the best mom I can be, and I need to be the best wife I can be, but moooost of all, I need to be the best Melissa I can be. Ive always felt like I was special, and illusions of grandure may have even come into play a few times, I know for a fact I have a lot to offer, Ive been through a lot of shit and I know I have learned lessons packed away in me that I need to give value to. This weeks lesson - be honest with yourself and be sure of yourself.
No one has seen this pic yet, I took it the other day when the kids were at my moms. I love them b/c theyre so close to what I see when I see myself. For the first time in my life I am comfortable in my own skin, it's truly amazing. I think I'm going to like getting old. When I was young I would not leave the house without long sleeves on, I was terrified to let people even see the scars on my hands. Ive made love with men who didnt even know I wore a prosthesis, I would deny it to my death. I was disgusted with myself, yet deep inside I knew I was worth having and that I was special. Ive come a long long way.
